Clinical Consultation for Licensed Therapists
Deepen Your Clinical Competence & Refine Your Practice with Intention
Even after licensure, the work you do is demanding. Clinical consultation offers a dedicated space to slow down, think deeply about your therapy work, and receive experienced support as you navigate challenging cases, ethics, and the ongoing impact of this profession. Amie R. Bryant, an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) and NASW-CO President’s Award winner, offers a relational, culturally-affirming, and values-driven approach to professional growth. She is available to provide general consultation of practice, consultation of supervision, clinical consultation, and EMDR consultation.
This service is exclusively for independently licensed professionals (LCSWs, LPCs, LMFTs, Psychologists). If you are not yet independently licensed, please visit our Clinical Supervision for Licensure page.
The NASW recommends 1 hour of case consultation for every 30 hours of social work practice in the 3–5 years post-master’s degree, and on an as-needed basis beyond that.

Frequently Asked Questions: Clinical Consultation
Can consultation hours count toward continuing education?
What is the difference between Supervision and Consultation?
Why do I need consultation if I am already licensed?
Not only can consultation hours count towards continuing education in some instances, consultation is a hallmark of ethical and sustainable practice. The NASW recommends consultation for 3–5 years post-licensure to refine skills. Even experienced therapists benefit from consultation to:
- Navigate ethical dilemmas or high-risk cases.
- Combat professional isolation and burnout.
- Expand skills in specific modalities (like EMDR).
- Manage personal reactions (countertransference) to client work.
Can I use these hours for my licensure requirements?
No. These offerings are for clinicians who are already independently licensed (LCSW, LPC, LMFT). If you are pre-licensed and need hours toward your license, please visit our Clinical Supervision for Licensure page.
Do you offer EMDR-specific consultation?
Yes. Amie is an EMDRIA Certified Therapist and Approved Consultant. She can provide specific clinical consultation on EMDR cases to help you deepen your fidelity to the model and navigate complex trauma presentations.
Can I attend the groups if I live outside of Colorado?
Yes, because consultation is not clinical supervision (which is bound by state licensing laws), licensed professionals from other states may participate in our virtual consultation groups for peer support and clinical growth. However, please check your specific state board regulations regarding consultation credits if applicable.
What happens if I miss a session in the Closed Cohort Group?
The Closed Cohort Group relies on the consistency and safety of the same six participants showing up each month. Because your spot is reserved for the entire cycle, fees for missed sessions are forfeited and cannot be rolled over or refunded.
