Guiding an experience of self-discovery, skill-building, and empowerment.

Amie R. Bryant is a seasoned psychotherapist, Approved Clinical Supervisor, and educator with 20 years of experience in the mental health field. She is the founder of Four Corners Counseling, where she specializes in helping both clients and clinicians cultivate a strong, healthy sense of self.

Professional Bio & Experience

Amie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Colorado & New Mexico, a Certified Addictions Specialist in Colorado, an EMDRIA Certified Therapist and Approved Consultant, and a CCE Approved Clinical Supervisor. With nearly 20 years of experience, she specializes in working with adults and older adolescents, helping them cultivate a strong and healthy sense of self. Her approach is relational and mindfulness-based, integrating multiple modalities that emphasize self-awareness, skill-building, and the therapeutic relationship as tools for responding rather than reacting to life’s challenges.

Amie has been in private practice for over a decade and previously spent 10 years at Fort Lewis College Counseling Center, where she served as a counselor, Training Coordinator, and ultimately Director. Her diverse background includes roles in school-based integrated healthcare, wilderness therapy, juvenile detention, emergency services, substance use treatment, and higher education. In addition to direct clinical work, she spends most of her time supervising, training, and consulting with mental health professionals at all career stages.

Specializing in Clinical Training & Supervision

With a Certificate in Advanced Clinical Supervision from Smith College School of Social Work, as an Approved Clinical Supervisor certified by the Center for Credentialing and Education, and as an EMDRIA-approved consultant, Amie specializes in clinical supervision and professional development. Her approach emphasizes the use of self in clinical practice, fostering ethical competence, relational feedback, and socio-cultural awareness. Amie has developed and facilitated supervision trainings and coursework for organizations such as PESI, The Telehealth Certification Institute, and Make an Impact CE Learning Systems, and has presented at Smith College School for Social Work, Adelphi University, and the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work.

Recognized for her leadership in clinical supervision and mental health, Amie has been honored with the Colorado Society for Clinical Social Work’s Most Distinguished Clinician award in 2023 and the President’s Award in 2024

Positionality Statement

As a therapist, supervisor, trainer, and facilitator, my background shapes my understanding of the world and the lenses through which I view my work. Ultimately, the lenses I wear shape my practice, recognizing that my work is shaped not only by my knowledge and skills but also by my history, life experiences, and evolving worldview.

Outside the Office

I have lived in Durango for over 20 years, initially moving here to serve as the Program Director for Colvig Silver Camps, a locally owned and family-operated summer camp that fostered my passion for counseling, my leadership skills, and my love of the outdoors.  I later received my Master’s in Social Work through the University of Denver, Graduate School of Social Work.

I am the proud bonus mom (aka stepmother) of two young adults who have launched, and I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two Doodles.  I center myself by walking to work as much as I can, and spending time alone and in quiet.  I nourish myself by being outside, ensuring movement in my days (walking, riding my bicycle, dancing), spending time with friends and family, reading, eating chocolate & ice cream, appreciating the fall colors, stargazing, and sitting around a campfire.
