“I first learned about Amie Bryant on the NASW daily forum (If you don’t belong to NASW you should, and keep up to date on what is happening in our professional world). Anyway, I primarily work as a clinical supervisor preparing LCSW applicants for the ASWB exam. I have been a social worker for over 45 years and I can tell you that you are never too old to learn and benefit from your consulting support professionals. Amie Bryant’s group was a gift to myself. We get so caught up in our day to day responsibilities and forget to do some self care and this group provides some excellent and well deserved selfcare. To be able to engage once per month with a diverse group of clinicians under Amie’s facilitation has been great. Do yourself a favor and join in. There is always something new to talk about.”

Frequently Asked Questions: Consultation of Supervision
What is “Consultation of Supervision”?
What can I expect from consultation with Amie?
You can expect expert, personalized guidance that supports you through both technical questions and the emotional and cognitive processes of clinical work—all tailored to your specific needs, goals, and challenges. As an individual client, you’ll receive a dedicated place in Amie’s schedule, along with email access for any questions that arise between sessions.
What benefits will I get from working specifically with Amie?
You are partnering with a mentor who brings deep roots to the table: 20 years of clinical social work and over 10 years of running a private practice. Beyond her advice and deep insights, you’ll receive tailored support aligned with your unique goals and challenges. You will also gain practical tools to increase your clinical confidence, sharpen your ethical discernment, and sustain your practice. Additionally, you’ll benefit from access to Amie’s wider professional network and resources.
Does this count toward my Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) credential?
Yes. If you hold the Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) credential, the Monthly Drop-In Group can count toward up to 9 hours of your continuing education requirements. Individual consultation hours may also apply depending on your specific credentialing board’s rules; we recommend verifying with the CCE.
I am an experienced supervisor. Do I still need this?
Yes. The NASW Best Practice Standards recommend ongoing consultation throughout one’s career. Seasoned supervisors benefit from consultation to prevent burnout, stay updated on regulatory changes (like those in the Colorado Mental Health Practice Act), and refine their “use of self” in complex gatekeeping situations.
What topics do we cover in these groups?
Common themes include
- Supporting supervisee identity development
- Navigating gatekeeping and remediation (when a supervisee is underperforming).
- Understanding and processing when client issues show up in the supervisory relationship.
- Ethical dilemmas regarding licensure and liability.
- Teaching clinical skills vs. providing therapy to the supervisee.
What is the cancellation policy?
- Individual: Full fee charged if not cancelled within 24 business hours.
- Drop-In: First late cancel rolls over; subsequent ones are forfeited.
- Closed Cohort: Fees are non-refundable/non-transferable as you are securing a spot in a fixed group.
